This year Papa John’s Tri-Cities is partnering with United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties for their annual Dine Out Tri-Cities fundraiser happening all day on Thursday March 12. For the past nine years, United Way has partnered with local restaurants for their hallmark fundraiser event. Last year the United Way was able to raise nearly $10,000. Papa John’s was proud to give $700 to the organization in support of their programs by promoting the organization and bringing in people to order pizza.
In the past, the premise was simple: patrons dine at one of participating Dine Out Tri-Cities, WA restaurants and the business owners give 10% of the profits to United Way. It’s a win-win situation. Only this year, things are a little different. Only eight local restaurants are participating, each of which have agreed to give 50% of their daily sales to United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties’ Community Solutions. It’s a step in the right direction, said Michele Roth, Director of Communications for United Way of benton and Franklin Counties.
“With the way we are doing things this year, we feel we’re giving restaurant patrons and supporters the opportunity to give more back to the community,” said Roth, “in previous years some of our restaurants expressed interest in donating more of their sales, they wanted to make a bigger impact.”
“Our business partners are really generous this year, and they are using their networks to drive traffic to their restaurants in hopes of raising more money,” she added, “what is really awesome for me is that these restaurants, which would otherwise be competitors, are coming together for a common cause.”
United Way is the international leadership and support organization for the network of nearly 1,800 community-based United Ways in 41 countries and territories. United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties hopes to improve the lives of people through targeted community initiatives focused on education, health, safety, and self-sufficiency. All proceeds from Dine Out directly impact the success of these programs by equipping local organizations with the necessary resources to help those in need.
Papa John’s Tri-Cities, serving Kennewick, Richland, West Richland, and Pasco continues to advocate and support organizations uplifting the lives of people in the Tri-Cities. We use our company and our delicious pizza as a vessel to do good in the community. On March 12th, order your pizza online or by calling in and you’ll know you’ll be doing your part to help others in your community.
